Inspired by the traditional Japanese concept of “Hare and Ke,” my work focuses on the boundaries between the extraordinary and the everyday, as well as the conscious and the subconscious. I employ a candid, snapshot-based approach, pursuing the purity of direct documentation without staging.

Believing that the essence of life resides not in “decisive moments” but in subtle gestures and the nuances of emotion, I press the shutter to hand over fragments of the “now” to the future.

My work spans a wide range of fields, including documentary, portraiture, and architecture.

Note: Hare and Ke — A traditional Japanese dichotomy representing the dual nature of life: Hare refers to the extraordinary—ceremonial, public, or “onstage” moments—while Ke represents the ordinary, quiet, and private flow of everyday existence.
