Far removed from any decisive moment, it is simply an ordinary fragment of life.
Yet within it, something essential to living is quietly present.
This is not a grand claim about the nature of photography; it is simply what I choose to believe.
Historical events and dramatic incidents alone cannot tell the whole story of a life.
It is often in uneventful, ordinary days that we find happiness.
No matter how small a moment may seem, as such moments accumulate, they may eventually take on greater meaning.
That is why I press the shutter with a quiet wish—
that these ordinary days will continue.
決定的瞬間からは程遠い、あまりにもありふれた一コマ。
しかし、そこには人生に欠かせないものが写し出されている。
これは写真の本質などという大袈裟な話ではなく、私がそう信じているというだけのこと。
歴史的な事件や劇的な出来事だけでは、人生の全てを語ることはできない。
何も特別なことが起きなかった平凡な日々にこそ、幸せを感じることがある。
どんなに些細な瞬間でも、それが折り重なっていく先に、何か大きな意味が待っているかもしれない。
だからこそ願いを込めてシャッターを切る。
